You can enjoy live matches from other ICC venues
Our friends based in the United States are fortunate to have a total of 518 direct flights to our destination. The airlines offering these direct flights are American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue and United Airlines.
If you love cricket and don’t have tickets, you can still watch live matches through different options when visiting. Stay close to the action of Kensington Oval with large-screen, live match broadcasts at the Pelican Fan Zone located at Pelican Island on Princess Alice Highway in Bridgetown.
In the north of the island, Hayman’s Market in Hayman’s, St. Peter will carry live matches on their 25-foot screen. Both options are perfect for families, with lots of space, restaurants, activities, and on occasion, post-match music and entertainment.
Besides these main stages, the island is also home to several sports and other bars that will be carrying live televised cricket action. Some popular ones include Bubba’s Sports Bar, Lucky Horseshoe Bar & Grill and Abbeville Arcade and Bar on the south coast. The Tavern Pub is more centrally located in St. Thomas, plus many more.
You can visit iconic cricket landmarks
In between the excitement of the ICC Men’s T20 tournament, Barbados offers several iconic cricket landmarks to explore. At the forefront is the historic Kensington Oval in Bridgetown. Since 1882, Barbados has been a prominent location for thrilling international matches featuring legendary players. A tour of Kensington Oval outside of match days is absolutely worth your while.
Across the street from Kensington Oval is the Cricket Legends of Barbados Museum. Explore the impressive careers of Barbadian cricketers through memorabilia, photographs, and stories of their success in the national sport. Souvenirs are also available for purchase at the museum.
Another notable landmark is the 3Ws Oval at the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus, named in honor of cricketing legends: Sir Frank Worrell, Sir Clyde Walcott, and Sir Everton Weekes. This landmark is possibly the most sacred cricket ground in the whole Caribbean, as it is the final resting place for all three greats. Just a short walk due east from the University is memorial bust of the 3Ws monument, located on a small green space that locals enjoy for recreation.
Fun fact: You might just meet a famous West Indies cricketing great at these places!
